Happy 8 Years!!!

8 years ago today, at this very moment, I was standing in the back of a church with my dad waiting for the bagpipes to ring out....

What a perfect day it was, surrounded by our family and friends!

I love to look back at all of our photos from that day.....I remember it all like it was yesterday.

Getting my hair done with some friends and my family (loved my hair), hanging out with the girls at our new house and getting my make-up done (loved my make-up, thanks Jo), getting dressed (with lots of help) at the church and peeking out the window watching the guests arrive, my heart pounding as I walked down the isle with my dad, looking around at everyone at the Church and being so happy they were all there with us, the look on Paul's face when he saw me for the first time that day, the ceremony and our dad's both doing a reading, the unity candle, our vows, our first kiss as husband and wife, walking back up the isle and seeing everyone's smiling faces, the reception and celebration!!! Just perfect!!!

These 8 year have had some ups and downs, but I wouldn't trade any of it!

Egg-stra Special Saturday Morning

This morning the kids couldn't wait to head to the park for our neighborhood Easter celebration!!!

We got there and off they ran to find the 'bunny'

Logan isn't scared at all and gave the biggest hug ever!

Soon it was time for the egg hunt...

Ella and Logan LOVED the bouncy slide and went down it about 500 times.

I loved sitting back and watching the two of them in line.

Ella was so protective and made sure to keep her brother with her at all times...

Spring Soccer

The kids had fun going to the GCU women's spring games this year....

These 2 kids love seeing the 'girls' and running around on the field

They will be ready to cheer for the 'lopes again in the fall!

RUN!

This past Saturday, I participated in Pat's Run in honor of Pat Tillman.

It was AWESOME!!! 30,000 people there....

4.2 miles...I completed it in 47 minutes, jogged the whole thing

I ran with my friend Amy from college....

"Check My Yucks"

So the kiddos have started this crazy habit.....

Not sure where it came from but I have a feeling it is here to stay, at least for a while

Everytime they take off their shoes or socks, wake up, finish playing, or just at random times during the day, I may hear Logan say, "Ella pweese check for yucks" and then I hear Ella saying "good, good, yuck, yuck", although the order changes each time.

What are they doing? Checking between their toes....might be checking their own toes or each others toes, but they are checking between their toes.

For what? As they call it....yucks

I have given up trying to understand it or stop it....

It is actually quite hilarious!

Might be time for you to check your own toes for 'yucks' and here's to hoping when you do, all you say is 'good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good"

...and the beautiful cool weather will be gone, the a/c will be back on, and summer will be here all too soon....

But we did enjoy the incredibly cool 40-50 degree weather on Saturday and the RAIN!!!

While we were eating dinner the brightest rainbow was outside our window!!!

Big Wad Wolf and Rapunzel.....

Our rainy Saturday was filled with fun thanks to aunt renee and aunt suz.....

They took the kiddos to Build-a-bear for their Easter treat!!!

The kids were just slightly excited :0)

Ella had been dreaming about shimmer kitty for weeks and Logan couldn't wait to get his BIG WAD WOLF!!!

Time to stuff Shimmer Kitty... Making sure kitty's heart is just perfect.... Ella helping Logan stuff BWW....he was a little shy at first (notice the hand behind his back)

Now the outfits.....basketball wolf and rapunzel kitty!

And to make it official.....kitty was named "Rapunzel" and wolf was named "Big Wad Wolf"

.....fly a kite

Ella LOVES that Mary Poppins song and she also loves to get outside in the wind with her little brother and her daddy and fly her kite!

We have had lots of wind lately and although it brings with it some sneezes for us all, we have tried to make the most of it!

Both Ella and Logan were able to get their kites flying high with just a little help from their daddy!
