Happy Birthday Auntie Suz

Happy Birthday Suz!
We headed to Renee and Kenny's for a birthday extravaganza!
It was our first party at the new house!
Kenny made bbq ribs and baked beans! He is a great cook!
Happy Birthday to my sister!
The gals!

Ella is always willing to help blow out the candles!
I was trying to get a pic of Ella and Logan in their matching reindeer shirts.....
not such a great idea. Ella was trying to keep him back and he took quite a tumble about 2 seconds after this picture and had a bloody lip.....
We had lots of fun today and enjoyed the nice beautiful cool weather with a little bit of rain.

Thanksgiving.....(continued)

Thanksgiving dinner at the Dunn's was yummy!
Logan was the first to dig in to the turkey and he LOVED it!

Ella was more excited to wear her turkey hat!

The only pic I could capture with Logan's hat on! Maybe next year I can get one with the two of them together!
Getting ready to eat!
Pics of Aunt Renee are few and far between since she runs from the camera....
Lucily I got this cute one of her with Ella

Like his bib says, "I'm Stuffed"

My little turkey and her Uncle Pat's beer
Silly Uncle Pat

Beautiful Days

Our weather has been absolutely beautiful.....
....cool nights and warm days.
We have been trying to take advantage of this and spending some time outside.

Our biker girl!

Smiley guy loving his walk!

Ella rode her bike all the way to the park.....she launched off the slide the first time down and landed on her bum....she jumped right up and said, "That sure was a sandy landin"
"HIGHER!"....she actually has started to pump her legs to swing herself!
"WHEEEEEEE!"

Her post-landing pose 'TAKE ONE'
Post-landing pose TAKE TWO
We got a special surprise when we got home. My sweet friend from high school had sent a basket of cookies that said "Get Well" for Logan. He enjoyed one after dinner, as did his sister.

Logan is going to be an artist just like his sister
Showing his concentration!

So glad we are almost back to 'normal' at the Barron household.
Next week, Logan has his follow-up appointment and hopefully will be given the green light to resume normal activity!!!!

Recovering......

I can't believe that tomorrow it will be one week since surgery.......
I am SO grateful that he has done so well.
Logan is full of smiles and just to make sure that he is doing really well, I gave him some.......
LASAGNA!!!!

I love this pic.....Look at those big chompers and sparkly blue eyes!
So funny.....I show the camera and this is what he does!

The world's messiest paci

He had a great time and ate alot........so happy to see him like this

His incision is healing well and his energy is definitely coming back.
It is getting harder and harder to keep him 'quiet' and not running and going crazy.
Logan loves to say 'woof' when you ask him what a doggie says....and 'kack' for a duck.
Working on what Santa says......
His new favorite thing to do as of today is yell as loud as he can when he wants something....hilarious. He has only done this for daddy.....heehee

Ella's New Favorite

So while Logan was in the hospital, Ella got a good dose of aunt spoiling.
She got to go to Build-a-Bear where she made a cute Hello Kitty complete with party dress, black dress shoes, and a sparkly black purse. We had to take a trip to the mall yesterday because Hello Kitty had an 'owee'.....a small hole that needed to be sewn. She also needed some jammies. During our expensive visit....Mr. Moose arrived who Ella was petrified of but then really liked because he was soooo soft. Will post pics soon of Hello Kitty....

Preschool Celebration

The morning after Logan got home from the hospital....Thursday am, Ella had her special Thanksgiving chapel service and a family picnic. I was really hoping we could all go and watch, but Logan was not recovered enough so he stayed home with Paul. Thanks to Jen who picked Ella up that morning.....I was able to come to school later, after a BIG cup of coffee.
Dressed for school, complete with turkey bow in hair!
Singing at chapel

Enjoying the picnic with Brooke

Thankful that someone brought pizza!

Ella and Addie....2 little sweeties!

And to top it off, there was a special package waiting in the car from GG and Pete-pete.....a sweet doll that Ella loves

Fingers crossed.....Going Home

Why is this little guy smiling????????
Because at 7am, his doctor came in and removed his drain and catheter. I was a little worried about pain control during, but Logan was happily distracted by my cell phone. He did manage to do something to my phone because at one point the screen said, "Purchase Approved" ......mental note to call Verizon later to find out what he purchased.
He was a happy camper losing 2 tubes......we just had to make sure his urine culture was negative from admission and as long as he was eating, drinking, peeing, pooping, and his pain controlled with oral pain meds, we could go home in the afternoon.

Gave the little man a sponge bath and put on some jammies......He was happy!

Add pain medication to that equation and he was SUPER happy!

Mr. Giddy......munching on the pillowcase
Logan had accomplished ALOT by lunchtime.....a yummy meatball lunch
He had peed, pooped, drank, ate and the pain meds were working.
Oh, and the urine culture was negative......YIPEE!
Now, all we had to do was wait for our nurse to get discharge instructions........easy? NOPE!
Let's just say the nurse of the last day was NOT my favorite.....had some serious issues with her!

You can see how distended his poor little belly was......

While waiting a LONG time for the nurse to get the discharge orders, we went to the playroom for a little fun!
We were finally discharged at about 3:30pm......
Off to my parents house to pick up Ella and Sprout....
After a trip to Target, Walgreens, and the grocery store......needed 3 prescriptions that required 2 pharmacies and some milk for Logan, we walked in the door at 6pm......
Exhausted.......officially exhausted
A quick dinner snack was enjoyed by Logan. He was really happy to be back home in his highchair! I was excited to take a SHOWER! ( No, I didn't go 3 days without one, I did leave the hospital for a bit on Tuesday to go to Megan's for a shower)

We had a pretty good night's sleep on the couch but more than anything, we were so HAPPY and RELIEVED that the surgery went so well and we were HOME!
Thank you to everyone for keeping us all in your prayers!
