Silly Papa

Lucky me got to go for a "skin check" at the dermatologist and will be going back for 2 biopsies in a couple weeks, ugh! Anyway, when Ella heard that I had to go to the doctor and daddy had to go to work, she almost started crying and said, " I will be scared all alone with just Logan and me".....silly sweet Ella. I told her that Grammie and Papa would come over and she said was ecstatic! Here is a picture of Ella and papa with stretchie snake moustaches. They always have a good time!
Speaking of silly, sweet Ella.....we started our summer movies on Thursdays with our McGlasson friends :-) and saw "Space Chimps".....Ella teared up multiple times and really started crying two times. She is such an emotional little girl that can't stand mean monsters or anyone being mean to the 'good guys'. It felt like a debriefing in the car after, we had to talk through all the "bad-ness" in the movie. Poor little girl. I hope "Nim's Island" doesn't cause emotional breakdowns next week........ I wonder if Harkins pays for therapy!

Oh when the shark bites......

We had lots of fun playing with this shark mitt the other night. Logan was exhausted from all his squealing and giggling! I don't know how Ella got to singing about "Jack's Big Music Show"...she is a silly one

I spoke too soon!

I spoke too soon! Remember the last post......"no gag".....well, after these cute little photos of our little eater there is a video clip....yep, a gag, the dreaded gag. I was just trying to get a cute video of him munching on a puff and this is what I got!

the dreaded GAG

One of the things I dread is switching from nice smooth pureed food to food with chunks and finger foods. The reason I dread this........the GAG! It petrifies me to see my kids gag. I immediately feel like they are going into full blown choking and that I am going to have to save them. I know....I am a nurse....a pediatric nurse, but when I am not at work, I am mommy. So that is my little bit about this process and why it scares me and I dread it.
We bought some puffs last week and Paul (also scared of the gag) put them away and didn't want to give him any the other day.....
Today, I felt brave. It was just me and Logan (Ella is with grammie) and he was bored..... I put him in his highchair while I was paying bills and he was ready for the challenge. He mastered it quite quickly and I am so very happy to report.......with absolutely no GAGS!
I had to post lots of pics because I was soooo proud of my little guy! He did great picking up the little puffs and putting them right where they belong. He is also doing great with the sippy cup.
Yippeeeee for Logan!
"Hey, what's that?''
"um.....I picked it up....now what?"

shy face.....after I said good job...oh my goodness, he is sweet

"I can do this!"

"yummy...."

"gotta lick my fingers clean too"

then he decided to wash his puffs down with a little juice....all on his own!

Growing WAY too fast

I can hardly believe that our little Logan is over 7 months old! He is growing way too fast and I wish I could just hit 'pause' for a while. He is scooting around on the floor and loves when you stand him up. This week was finally the time to get out the highchair and put away the Bumbo.

What can I say.....this boy LOVES his food. He DEVOURS everything that he is offered. I decided to buy one of those 'mesh' feeders to get him started with feeding himself. Ella was very into grabbing the spoon and trying to feed herself and Logan is happy as can be to let you feed him while he relaxes. He LOVES eating his fruit from his little feeder....he had mashed on bananas, peaches, cherries, and apples. WARNING: Do NOT try to remove the feeder from his hand before he is ready......wow! He has a temper when you mess with his food!

Ick....What a week....

So after a fabulous 2 weeks with Curtis and Jo, sickness came to the Barron house and attacked 2 of its members......me and poor little Ella Bella. After working last Tuesday, I was super tired and wondering why Ella was being such a stinker about going to bed and waking us up in the middle of the night. Well, she had climbed into bed with us and about 2:30am I realized she was on fire.....The poor girl felt absolutely miserable on Wednesday and spent the entire day lying on the couch watching movies. She didn't eat much but luckily drank about 20 cups of apple juice. She was feeling much better on Thursday and the first thing she said when she woke up was, "Mommy can I kiss Logan today since I feel better?" I was back at work on Friday and then Saturday morning I woke up feeling absolutely miserable.....stuffy nose, headache, body aches, nausea......I spent the entire day in bed and now felt even worse for Ella knowing that she had gone through this a few days before. It was horrible! I felt better on Sunday, thank goodness. I was back to work for a half day yesterday. So between work and sickness, I am glad this past week is over! Looking forward to a week of health and no more work until Sunday!!!!!!
Feeling her worst, but manages to smile for the camera......
The highlight of her day. She perked up for a bit. She received her special invite to her friend Brooke's birthday party. Thanks McGlassons for making my sweet Ella feel better!
She LOVED her photo of her "fiance" ....... they are officially engaged you know. Ella did propose a while back. She was so sad to miss his graduation celebration, thanks for bringing us some yummy cake
....even though the glass slipper didn't fit....we are all very aware that Ella is still a beautiful princess

We Miss You Both

We had such a great time with Auntie JoJo and Uncle Curtis! We were all quite sad the other day when it was time for them to head back home. We love you guys!
Ella has told me many times that she misses them.......
Ella: I miss Auntie JoJo and Curtis
Me: Me too Ella
Ella: We can go to their house soon? I miss them
Me: Hopefully next year Ella. They live far away
Ella: But I love them mommy.........

Logan SWIMS and Ella gets a NEW room!

I can't believe how warm our pool is! It has been perfect. Usually the water isn't quite warm enough until June, but we have already been in alot. Today was Logan's first day in the big pool and he LOVED it! He loves to splash......in his bath and now in the pool. I took a couple photos of our little 'surfer' before we headed out to the pool. He sure is cute! He really liked his glasses. I was so surprised he didn't pull them off

Cruisin' around in the turtle.....Ella had the same one

Splashing the day away

We finished decorating Ella's room today. I LOVE it! Ella does too. It really looks cute. We are just waiting for the desk to be delivered and then it will be complete.

Our bouquet of paper flowers we made.....cute!

Had to take a pic of Ella with her 'special' doughnut that daddy picked out for her

This is what we found when we went to get Logan after he woke up from his nap. Ella had heard him first and gone in to check on him.

Paint on my leg......

Today was a busy day.......yawn.....

It started off with getting way too few hours of sleep, thanks to Jo and I shopping until almost midnight last night. We headed out at 7:30pm and went to Home Depot, Target, and Walmart x2. We were finishing up buying the "stuff" so we could officially start on Ella's room today.

Up this morning, bright and early. Paul, Curtis, and Ella headed out and as soon as Logan was down for his nap at 8:30, Jo and I started painting Ella's room. One purple 1/2 wall and the rest pink. And of course, like every other time you paint, your eyes go crazy, the color looks different than you thought it would look, and you question whether you 'really' should have used that paint. All said and done, it looks adorable. So......the room is painted, all crafts are crafted, and the bed is done, made, and in the room. And yes, I know I still have paint on my leg....... Tomorrow will bring switching out the rest of the furniture (Please, if you know anyone who needs a crib, etc... for a baby girl, we are still needing to sell) and hanging up the crafty crafts.....fun. More photos coming tomorrow.

After a quick "clean-up" of the room and the people, we headed out to dinner at Sauce.....yum and some gelato. Here is a super cute picture of Auntie JoJo, Uncle Curtis, and the kiddos......

Happy 7 months and 4 days little man!!!! Logan's first Haircut!

Things have been a little hectic the past few days.......I remembered Saturday was Logan's 7th month day, but forgot to address this on the blog......bad mommy. I remembered again and again and still forgot to post about it. Well, here it is!
Happy 7th months my little man! I LOVE YOU more each day! Your smile melts my heart and I LOVE your chubby stinky feet! You are absolutely wonderful!
We had some photos done yesterday at the house, so it was time for Logan's first haircut to get ready for the 'shoot'. His first haircut was compliments of Auntie JoJo.......we love ya!
"ummmmm......what's going on here?"
Always smiling

Peek-a-boo

He is such a sweetie

Love those "little tongue out" shots

The handsome "finished product"

Ella got in on the action as well! although she was really missing "Sweet & Sassy"

A sneak peek..........Crafty...crafty.....Ella's new room

We decided to re-do Ella's room and sell her current "baby furniture" as she refers to it. We have ordered a really cute white bed, dresser, and desk. Since talented Auntie JoJo is visiting, she so kindly offered to help with some crafting for the new room. We were inspired by a couple of different things and I can't wait to see it all completed. Here is a sneak peek!
This will be her new bedding.
From the pottery barn kids catalog, the wall hanging "inspiration"

The cutest little pillow......also our "inspiration"

The first beautiful canvas we made!

The second beautful canvas we made

An adorable picture frame

A shelf to hang on the wall.....with little jewelry pegs

Ella used some extra beads to "craft" herself a bracelet.

Please give me some feedback on what you think......any other ideas????

Happy Mommy's Day!

I always knew it would be great to be a mom.......but not THIS great! I LOVE my kids!!! Love them! Love them! Love them! There is nothing better than Ella's sweet little voice telling me she loves me and that I am her "bestest friend". I wouldn't trade Loag's slobbery kisses and big grin for the world! They make me smile each and every day. I have two very special kids that make me proud that I am their "mommy"

Hope everyone, especially my mom, had a very happy mother's day!
